Some of our Success Stories

"An update on Rose: I adopted her from HERO back in September of 2009 and she is now in Mocksville, happily learning to be a jumper. In the past couple of years we've also blazed the trails of the Blue Ridge Parkway in Boone while she was with me during my time in school at Appalachian State. Adopting her has been the best decision I've ever made and an absolute dream come true. She's such a smart girl and so easy to work with and teach. I cannot imagine my life without her now.
Thank you for all you do for these wonderful horses!" -Monica

Success Stories

Phoenix was adopted by Nicole Huttar, the owner of Jumping H Farm in Elkin, NC. Phoenix is currently being used in lessons and on trails and is a "rock-star" according to Nicole.
"Lucky Man"

Lucky Man came to HERO as an ex-racehorse with a stifle injury.  HERO had his injury repaired, and after his rehab with HERO, was fostered and then adopted by one of our very own volunteers! He is doing wonderfully in his new home, where he is ridden weekly and has a new pasture buddy.

Along with a few other palominos, Amber came to H.E.R.O. thin, neglected, and pregnant! She gave birth to a healthy palomino foal a few weeks later. His handsome father, Hamlet, and his young sister, Cressida, have also been adopted. These are very sweet, sound horses who are now enjoying different jobs with their riders.
We are thrilled to see them in homes where they are appreciated.
