Rescued March 16th, 2008

News:

December 24th: HERO took in 3 of 11 Rescued from Randolph County, who were rescued from possibly the worst case of neglect and removed from a farm where there were countless dead horse bodies and bones. Owner, Jauvanna Craven, surrendered the equine but is being charged for 11 counts of animal cruelty amongst other charges. The surviving 2 will be quarantined, rehabbed and placed in foster homes then placed up for adoption once they have fully recovered. See their photos on our rehab page

Was founded on the purpose to help those that can not speak for themselves....to be a voice for the profound and strong animal we call the "Horse". The equine of many origins represents many things to horse lovers of all kinds; freedom, life, strength and friendship. We at H.E.R.O want to preserve that as much as we are able!

H.E.R.O is a new rescue in the North Carolina area established by volunteers with the care of equines as our sole priority. As we get established we need help from our community to help the equines that need our services. We need volunteers, adopters, quarantine facilities, foster homes, and much more. Interested?
